Time waits for no one. We are the ones who must make our dreams come true, so here I am working on my novel. If 2018 is the year my novel finds itself a home, I must work harder than ever to make it stand out from the crowd.
Take each sentence apart I’m asking myself is it saying what I want it to say?
Does it carry the plot forward?
Is its subject matter relevance to the plot, characters, setting etc?
Does my book need it?
In 2016 I had some positive feedback on my novel, but was told it needed more editing, so after a year away from it, I’m hoping that I can look at it with fresh eyes and see where I can make huge improvements to my crime novel.
I’m feeling a little nervous as I read through the first chapter as I begin work on it, but overall I’m pleased that I still feel excited by the voice in my head as the characters come alive.
